Update 6/25/2021

Greetings Madrone,

On Saturday our first Virtual Madrone Baronial Court will be live on our new YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgp3MSl8jNlZLQFJ2Zbm9VA

There is a brief morning welcome at 9am and the main court will air at 5 pm (and then be available for later viewing). You may choose to watch live on YouTube or via an Athenaeum Salon, thus to interact via chat with fellow viewers. All are welcome in the themed and social Salons at Athenaeum throughout Saturday and Sunday, please come visit!

In our striving for brevity I fear we have failed to express all the gratitude we feel to the people of Madrone. Most of all, thank you for your patience and good attitude in keeping apart, keeping each other safe, and putting together three large virtual events during this pandemic. Thank you to Our officers, champions, sergeants, and populace for keeping the barony going through these trying months. We are so proud of Our community.

We also wish to thank Guillaume and Annisa Garrigues for hosting, filming, and editing the video for us. Thank you for making us look good.

You may have wondered why We and our Herald Simon appear separately during the video, the answer is that he has taken part in a new vaccine trial, and so was treating his interactions as if he was not immunized, and maintained distance and masking with us. He did receive his vaccine card two days later. Thank you Simon for your service to the greater good by being part of a vaccine trial!

Please continue to look forward in planning a positive future for Madrone. Fighter practices begin on July 5th, equestrian practices resume soon, and we are open for bids for future events. Everything happens because someone volunteers, thank you for all that you have done already.

In grateful service,

Enzio Bandinelli and Spike Zoetaert, Baron and Baroness of Madrone

Greetings Citizens of An Tir,
Athenaeum weekend is upon is in 48 hours! I hope you are as excited as I am for all the art and research that will be showcased this weekend! I wanted to take a minute to point out a new feature we are adding this year so that you can factor it into your planning for participation in Athenaeum.
Group Chats with exhibitors: 14 artisans have signed up for time slots to make themselves available to groups of people to have collective conversations about their work and process. In this way we hope to offer participants an experience similar to wandering through the presentation tables at an in person Athenaeum in the past, periodically stopping to take part in conversations that interest them.
Here is a link that will take you to the event page and activities schedule: https://athenaeum.baronyofmadrone.net/event-schedule/
Links for these chats will be accessible on the Athenaeum site during the day Saturday 26th and Sunday the 27th.
Come show your support for their work, meet others who are interested in similar work, and share experiences with each other!

Greetings Fellow Artisans of An Tir!

The Barony of Madrone is proud to host Virtual  Athenaeum, to be held on June 26th & 27th, 2021.

Event will start  8am – 5pm on both days.

We welcome previous exhibitors from either in-person Athenaeum or last year’s virtual version: Road to Athenaeum! We welcome Laurels to exhibit their work this year as well! Our goal is to help even more artisans leverage this online forum to be able to share their work, their scholarship, their creative passion with as many people as possible!

Your registration reserves an Exhibit page on the event website (https://athenaeum.baronyofmadrone.net/).

You will get access to your Exhibit page in a few weeks.

Registered Exhibitors will be invited to join a private, supportive Facebook group. We will be sharing tips and tricks for creating your exhibit on the website.

What is Athenaeum?

  • It is a non-competitive Body of Work event, and it is your chance to display the breadth of your art, sciences, and research. You will receive valuable feedback and commentary from the Laurels of An Tir and other artisans in a relaxed, collaborative, and engaging environment.
  • Click here (https://athenaeum.baronyofmadrone.net/frequently…/…) to read the FAQ on the event website.
  • If you have any questions or need words of encouragement or a pep talk, just reach out to the event team, or to me, via Facebook. Or you can email the event team at athenaeum@baronyofmadrone.net, and we can work on getting you the answers you need and the encouragement you seek!
