Tournaments & Contests!

Thrown Weapons!

Here in the south of Tir Righ we don’t like the fact that  65% of Tir Righ’s Senior Thrown Weapons Marshals, 60 % of An Tir’s top 10 Thrown Weapons scorers and 100% of An Tir’s Atlatl scorers reside in the triangle of Lions Gate, Hartwood, and Fjordland .

Fjordland invites all of An Tir to come help us break this triangle in a weekend of activities that will spread throwing skills, knowledge and success across the land.

Activities in development include, but are not limited to:

  • A variety of throwing games and contests
  • Score submission
  • Senior and Junior Marshal training
  • Atlatl throwing and scoring
  • Your ideas

As well as classes (or intensive discussion) on;

  • How to make weapons and targets
  • Throwing philosophies and techniques
  • Combat weapons
  • How to develop the sport and community
  • Anything else you might want to teach, learn or share

Archery!

Heavy Combat!

A&S Contest: Aurelia Saturnina

In keeping with our thrown weapons theme, this contest will involve researching an authentic throwing weapon and a matching persona.  Participants will learn about a historical weapon, it’s construction, it’s time period and geography. This will also include information on the person that would’ve used that weapon, who they were and what did they wear.

Your paper will require some documentation but don’t worry as this is meant to be at a beginner level.

For more information, please contact Aurelia at moc.liamg@aninrutasailerua.acs or watch the Facebook event page for updates.

Activities:

Saturday night potluck dinner

  • Please bring something for the potluck
  • For the first time (we believe) in An Tir history!  People attending the event will have the opportunity to FISH and Catch their own supper of Rainbow trout from the Salmon hatchery just next door to the event site for Saturdays supper.
