Please Join us for a French Country Picnic.  This is a potluck event, where the Barony provides the Meat for the evening meal.

There will be our traditional Swap Meet,  Bardic, A&S Classes, and a French Dessert Competition.

Come enjoy the day in Blatha an Oir as the sun starts to return to the lands

There is no pre reg for this event. We do request you RSVP to the event Steward so we can calculate to have enough for the main dish.

Rules for French Dessert/Pastry Competition.
1. 1 entry per person
2. Must be French in origin no time period requirements. Please provide short description explaining what region or where recipe is from and ingredients list.
3. There will be 2 prizes

Youth and Family Activities

YAFA will be doing open board/table games all afternoon. 

YAFA token can be earned for this event 

All kids and adult kids welcome to join in the fun

We are requesting for help with Set Up and take down.

 

1 hour gate Shifts

Classes Offered

Class Descriptions
11 am to 1 pm Open Sewing and Clothing Questions – Sewing Circle or “stitch ‘n’ bitch” from – Sit down with an unfinished project
and work with convivial conversation and company, or bring something that is giving you fits – a gore not sitting correctly, hem to
mark, question on what to do with a fabric and make progress on those UFOs (unfinished objects)
1:00PM – 2:00PM. In this hands-on class we will be making two types of small cloth buttons from wool fabric: disc buttons based
on finds from Norse Greenland and ball buttons based on finds from 14th century England. Wool fabric and thread provided.
Bring small scissors and reading glasses if you wear them. Adults and Youth welcome.
1PM to 4pm Open Table Medieval Games. Qualifies for YAFA Token: Learn to Play Backgammon, Mancala, Glaukhaus to name a
few
2pm – 3pm”What do I do with my device or badge now that I have one?” – Things you can do with a device or badge (and what is
the difference between the two) to promote pageantry and display in the Society, and have fun marking all the things as *yours*.
3pm-4pm ” Medieval and Renaissance Rounds” Learn fun and period, medieval and renaissance rounds, to be sung “around” the
fire. No experience needed, all those welcome to join, even if you don’t consider yourself a singer. Handouts will be available.
