Archery, Armoured and Rapier Fighting – Oh
My!
On Sunday, the 28th, Danescombe will be hosting a
weather-permitting outdoor practice at our Archery Practice site:
3700 Pooley Road, in Kelowna BC. Start time is 11:00, and there
will be room for Armoured fighting, and Rapier fighting as well as
Archery. Facilities are outdoors, so please remember to dress
warmly. Maps to the Pooley Road site will be available at gate on
Saturday. Contact Christoff Helmut, Archery Officer in Danescombe
(irvinec88@gmail.com) if you have any further questions.

Pre-registration for Coronet Lists is now
open!

Why should you pre-reg?
1.  It is MUCH faster for you at the event.  All you have
to do is check in to verify you are there.  Your card and
shield (provided you have one) will have already been pulled for
you, and we will have verified your membership and fighting
authorization and your inspiration’s membership.
2.  Depending on how many entrants we have pre-registered, it
could let Lists ensure a balance of royal peers, knights, squires,
and unbelted in each field. We might even be able to balance
fighters based on location so that you won’t meet in the first
round the fighters you see every week at fight practice!

How to pre-reg for Coronet Tourney:
Email lists@tirrigh.org the following information in an e-mail:

Fighter:
Fighting title (e.g., Sir, Viscount, Duke)
    SCA name
    Modern name
SCA membership number and expiry date
    Squire/Man-At-Arms and to whom
    Branch
What is the main fight practice you attend?

Inspiration:
    Title
    SCA name
    Modern name
SCA membership number and expiry date

Pre-registration deadline is Wednesday, October 24th at 8pm.

The schedule for this event will be very cozy, but never fear,
you will be able to participate in both the A&S and Bardic
portions of the event, AND the Coronet tournament, should you wish
it. If you’re terribly brave, the schedule should allow for a full
entry in A&S, and a full entry in Bardic, AND entry into the
Coronet Tournament! So bring out ALL your skills, and show everyone
just what kind of amazingly diversely talented people call Tir Righ
home!

A preliminary schedule will be posted following the cut off for
submission of letters of intent.  In addition to the three
Championships, there will be TUTR classes, a rapier tournament,
shopping, and A&S displays to entertain and amuse – something
for everyone! So keep your eyes on the calendar
page/website/facebook group for updates at the beginning of
September.

The Deadline for submission of letters of intent for both
Bardic, and Arts and Sciences Competitors is fast approaching! If
you are thinking of entering, either single entries or full
entries, be sure to submit your letter of intent to the Tir Righ
A&S Minister, the current Champion, their Excellencies the
Tanist and Ban-Tanist, and their Highnesses no later than September
1.  Contact information for all parties can be found on the
Tir Righ website. Rules for entrants are available on the event web
page at danescombe.tirrigh.org.

And, if you’d like to participate in the fabulousness that is
A&S, but don’t want to compete, never fear! We invite each and
every branch in Tir Righ to send samples of the amazing works of
their artisans to display at CASB! There will be a table for every
branch, and you are welcome to send your works with a
representative from your branch, even if you can’t make it to the
event yourself. (Though really, you should come too – it’ll be
fun!).  All items should have a card attached with the name of
the Artisan, their branch, and a brief description of the item
(“Anna the Artisan, from Lionsdale. It’s a hat, from 14th century
Germany”) – no other documentation needed, unless you’d like to
supply some! Contact the Event Steward, A&S Minister or the
A&S Champion if you have questions.

Merchants, we need YOU! All merchants, especially those with
period wares, are invited to come to CASB, and delight the populace
with their merchandise.  The event will be very centrally
located, and so will you, so it’s an excellent opportunity to be
able to watch the Coronet tournament, and entice the many gentles
who will be in need of your goods.  Please contact the Event
Steward to reserve your table space.
