you are able to move about freely in. Spend as much or as little

Descriptions

Bartering
Table
  (Meresigha)  Learn the fine art of
bartering with Meresigha at the “Bartering Table.” Please bring
with you stuff to barter.  Anything Medieval you have made,
shiny rocks, food or anything Medieval you don’t want
anymore.  This is a drop in class for all ages.

Bookbinding (Brenna)
Pamphlet Book Binding-Make a simple book with just a few easy
stitches. You can make a hand-made paper book, a book of simple
recipes, or a coloring book of heraldic designs.  There will
be watercolors and beads to personalize your own creation. This
class is for all ages and has a limit of 10 seats. You may want to
pre-register for this class.

Cats in
History
(Tasha) Where and when Cats were
domesticated, what uses were they put to. How they crossed Oceans
and spread from one country to another. This is an open class that
will take place when enough interested people have gathered.

Chain Maille
Table
(Michael FitzGeoffrey) Come by and give it a
try. This is a drop in class for all ages.

Charter
Painting
(Daigo Tsukime Kitsume) Kitsume will be
offering this class on Charter Painting.  This is classis for
ages 10 and over with a limit of 10 seats. You may want to
pre-register for this class.

Painting Table
(Daigo Tsukime Kitsume) This will be
a drop in class for all ages and is a place to practice you charter
painting skills and learn some tricks of Charter Painting with
Aquaterra’s Baronial Scribe.

Dance (Soelig) This
is a drop in class for all ages.

Dogs in the
Midle Ages
(Cerridwen) This class is for all
ages.

Finger Loop
Braiding
 (Tasha) This class is for all ages
and has a limit of 10. You may want to pre-register for this
class.

Free Play
Family Area
  There will be an area with
toys and color books etc.  This area is for parents to bring
their kids just to play.  This is an unmanned station and
parents are required to stay with their children.

Gingerbread
Cookie Decorating
(Ariana) Ariana will have 4×4
shield cookies to decorate. This is a drop in class for all
ages.

Herald’s
Table
 There will be Heralds on hand at
various times throughout the day to consult with students and
parents. 

Jewelry Making
Table
(Bryson) Bryson will teach you how to make a
piece of jewelry.  This is a drop in class for all ages

Lucet
Brading
(Martha) A medthod of cordmaking or
braiding.  This class is for ages 13 and over and is limited
to 6 seats. Student will keep lucet for practicing.  You may
want to pre-register for this class.

Medieval Doll
Clothes
(Avelyn & Elewys) This Class is for
ages 10 and over with a limit of 10 seats. You may want to
pre-register for this class.

Medieval
Paper
(Avelyn & Elewys) This will include paper
costumes to color and cut and put onto a Lord or Lady du
Papier.  This is a class for ages 9 and under and has a limit
of 10 seats. You may want to pre-register for this class.

Games/Paint a Handkerchief for Queen Gwyneth

(Madame Jacqueline de Lioncourt-Kingdom Family Activities
Coordinator) Madame Jacqueline will be set up all day for the Youth
to come by and learn a medieval game or challenge her to one they
know. Or, come by and paint a handkerchief for Queen Gwyneth.
 This is a drop in class for all ages.

Nalbinding
(Cerridwen) A fabric creation technique  predating knitting
and crochet. This class is for ages 13 and over with a limit of 10
seats. You may want to pre-register for this class.

Needlefelting (Jann,
Mericke, Holly and Cerridwen)  This is an open class for all
ages.  Parents must help the younger children as the needles
are very sharp.)

School
 (Eibhlin and Isabel) Aquaterra’s Page
School will be in attendance.  For ages 12 and over.

Paper
Making
(Brenna) Come roll up your sleeves and play
with a vat of cotton pulp to make your very own sized piece of
paper-a work of art on its own or a canvas for Calligraphy or
Illumination. This class is for all ages and has a limit of 10
seats. You may want to pre-register for this class.

Persona
Development for Young Ladies
(Rosamund) This class
is for ages 13 and over  with a limit of 10 seats. You may
want to pre-register for this class.

Raw Wool
Processing
(Loki) How to wash, card, felt, dye,
spin and needle felt wool,  with an emphasis on wet felting
flats (like, boots, hats, tunics, etc). This is a drop in class for
all ages.

Repousse (Thorbjorn)
Repousse is defined as  shaped or ornamented with patterns in
relief made by hammering or pressing on the reverse side -used
especially of metal. This is a drop in class for all ages.

Scavenger
Hunt
(Holly) Find all 19 Kingdom Flags and receive
a prize. 

Silk Painting
Class
(Adeliza)  Students will make and take
home a fan.  This class is designed for ages 13+ and has a
limit of 10 seats.(There may be a minimal charge for supplies for
this class)  You may want to pre-register for this class.

Silk Painting
Table
(Adeliza) This will be an open class for all
ages.  The students will make and take home a
suncatcher.  (There may be a minimal charge for supplies for
this class)

Story time
with Duchess Angharad
After you get your lunch, sit
down and enjoy a good story read by the Beautiful Duchess
Angharad.

Teen Meet
& Greet
(Brenna & Ariana)  The teens
will gather at toward the end of the day to enjoy some snacks and
get to know one another.

Youth Armored
Combat Activities
 (Jolgierr, Loftr, Haldor)
SET UP IN THE CONCRETE BUILDING NEXT TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER WITH
CLASSES AND FIGHTING THROUGHOUT THE DAY. There will be no set time
for the following YAC Classes.  They will take place when
enough interested people have gathered.

Youth Armored
Combat 101
  (For both Youths and their
Parents)  The Youths can try on Armor and learn some basic
fighting techniques while the parents learn what involvement in the
program would mean.

Combat Marshaling 101
(For Parents) Start training
to become an Official YAC Marshal.

Youth Armored
Combat Armor and Weapons
(For Parents and Older
Youth)  A discussion, including props and handouts, regarding
how to build armor and weapons for the YAC fighter, no matter what
age.

 

The Drop In Classes are just that, drop in and stay as long as
you wish whenever these classes are open.  Spend all morning
at one or experience them all.

There will be a couple of EXTRA SPECIAL classes and activities
that we will announce during the event.

Rampaging pygmy hordes from the Steppes raid neighboring
bedrooms! 
Thousand Flee in Terror!  The
Youth of An Tir demand event!  Parents across the Kingdom
report the activities of restless children as cabin fever asserts
itself.

In response to desperate pleas from frustrated parents of An
Tir, the Shire of Midhaven is once again holding a Youth
Althing.  A day of activity for kids who are bored with events
that only have activities for adults

A feast is planned with foods kids want to eat. Please reserve
(not pre-pay) your spot for the feast before January 24,

There will be a variety of classes for all age groups. Please
watch the Shire or Kingdom website for class lists and registration
instructions.

Fighting?  We’re planning that too!  Armour up your
youths! Come fight with your friends!

Site Fee: $10 for adults with a $5.00, adult,
non-member surcharge.  $8 for children 4-17.  Children 3
and under are free. Lunch is included with your site fee.  The
cost of the evening feast is $8 (children 3 and under are
free).  Make checks payable to the “Shire of Midhaven, SCA
Inc.”

Directions to site:  From I-5
North and South;
 Take the Cook Rd Exit (#232), from
the South turn Right and from the North turn Left, onto Cook
Rd.  (Cook Rd will become W Ferry) Stay on Cook Rd for approx
5 miles. Turn Right onto Central Ave. Take 1st left onto
Pacific.  703 Pacific is on the Right.
