Winter’s Tourney 2012

February 4, 2012

 

The Shire of Lionsdale welcomes you to our annual Winter’s
Tourney where lords and ladies vie to be our new champion of
rapier, arts & sciences, and bardic, while other gentles
compete in armoured combat, and cut & thrust tournaments.

Site Fee:

Adults: $10

Youth 13-18: $5

Children 0-12: Free

Merchant fee: prize donation

Events will include three of our Shire Champion competitions:
rapier, arts and sciences, and bardic, and also an armoured combat
tourney and cut & thrust tourney as well as merchants, classes,
and a potluck feast for which the shire is providing a main
protein.

 

For the potluck please bring a dish to serve 8-10 people with an
ingredients list. Please note that there is no alcohol allowed on
this site.

A&S Championship:

1. The competition will be a single entry ( but a person may
enter more than one piece if they are different pieces )

2. No theme ( so as not to exclude anyone ),

3. With documentation.

4 The competitors will give an oral presentation for up to 15
minutes about the piece.

5. If possible though not required I would like to see the pieces
be donated to Lionsdale largess ( This is so the artists word
– fame will grow and well as the shires ).

6. In progress entries are welcome for commentary but will not be
considered for Shire Champion competition.

 

Those bringing projects for commentary please inform the current
A&S Champion, Sir Kerrigan, or our A&S Minister Kayleigh de
Leis of their intention as soon as possible to ensure time, space,
and adequate judges.

If the pieces are to be donated they should be accompanied by a
recipe card size tag with the artists name, branch and brief
summary of the documentation so the future receiver with have a
full understanding and appreciation of the piece.

The prize will be a carved Leather pouch custom made by Sir
Kerrigan after discussion with the winner.


Rapier Championship:

Format will be determined on site depending on the number of
entrants.


Bardic Championship:

Two contrasting pieces with verbal documentation.

 

Heavy Tourney:

Format will be determined on site depending on the number of
entrants.
