COME YE, COME YE TO THE FAIRE!  Like
the Champagne Fairs of the Middle Ages, this is an occasion
for one and all, merchant and amateur craftsperson alike, to
barter and sell their handiwork (and/or all that excess stuff
you no longer want or need) in a convivial atmosphere, ending
with a sumptuous and entertaining Borgia feast.

 

So come join the Shire of Glyn Dwfn while we
celebrate SAMHAIN and the advent of Fall in
a picturesque, riverside venue nestled amidst the hills and
forests of our magnificent southern shire.   

 

Part “Blanket Swap”, part “Merchants’ Row”, part “A&S
Display”, part “Tourney” and part “Bardic”, this is a chance
for all and sundry to relieve themselves of garb and gear
they no longer use or need, a chance for craftspeople to
peddle their wares or simply show off their skills and for
those in need to accouter and equip themselves with the best
the Society has to offer, along with classes to pass on the
skills on display. 

 

Meanwhile fighters can match their skills in prize tourneys
and the talented amongst us, be they dancers, drummers,
jugglers, or poets, can entertain the masses, just like at
the Faires of old.

  In short, there will be a Medieval Marketplace, a
Zombie tournament, a drop-spindle instruction class, (free to
5 participants and all observers, but materials also
available for $15 purchase), a leather pouch making class
for 6 smalls ($5 for materials), followed by a Borgia
Feast, (simply to-die-for).

EVENT SITE:  Pioneer Hall, 1739 So. Fork Little Butte
Creek Rd., Eagle Point, OR 97524.  From Hwy 62, head
east on Hwy 140 for 12.5 miles until you reach the Lake Creek
turnoff. (Signs will be posted)  Bear right on Lake
Creek Loop .6 miles, continuing to the right when you reach
So. Fork Little Butte Creek Rd.  Travel 1.1 miles to
town. Pioneer Hall is on the left.  Parking will be
directed (NO parking in front of General Store). Event site
opens 10:00 a.m. and closes 9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23,
2010.  NO smoking or open flames within buildings. Dry
site.

 

Please bring your own drinking water and beverages. 
Food and beverages also available at the adjacent General
Store.

 

Adult Site fee $12; Children (5 to 12) $6; Family
Cap is $30

Non-member surcharge $5 (NMS applies to all adult site fees
for those who cannot show proof of membership).  Make
checks payable to SCA-Shire of Glyn Dwfn.
