Harvest Feast

The Harvest is upon us and it is time for our prestigious
shire to choose its new champions in heavy combat, rapier
combat, archery, arts & sciences and the famous youth
championship!
A membership is required to compete for the championships. A
letter of intent is required. We will be preparing another
fantastic feast Bitter end style, be sure not to miss it!
Merchants are welcome, contact us for reservations. There
will be a silent auction held Sat. so don’t forget your gold!
Lots of camping space outside the hall only.
Animals are welcome but must be leashed and picked up after
at all times. There will be no bar on site so site is
discreetly wet and in period vessels. A canteen will
provided.

Friday Oct 15- Site opens at 6pm
Sat. Oct 16:
Archery-11am
Youth Championship- will take place most of the day
Rapier-12:00am (will be outside weather permitting)
Heavy- 1:30pm (will be outside weather permitting)
A&S- Judging 4pm
Feast- 6/6:30pm
Court to begin subject to Their Highnesses whim and
availability
Sun. Sept. 13- site closes @ 12pm

Adult Site & Feast- $25.00
Youth Site & Feast ( 10-16 yrs) $15.00
Children under 10 are Free
Please add $5.00 NMS if you are a Non Member

Directions to Site: there is no street address
Shady Nook Hall
Make your best route to Red Deer and the intersection of
Highways 2 and 11. From highway 2 travel west in highway 11
to secondary highway 596 (Burnt Lake Trail) and turn left
(south), there is a Fas Gas on the north corner. Travel along
Sec. Hwy 596 (this road curves from the south to the west) to
Range Road 283 and turn left (south). Follow onto gravel to
Township Road 380 and turn right (west), there is a feed lot
on your right hand side. Hall is the 4th drive on the right.
Signs will be posted.

A few extra Notes about Harvest Feast.
1. Please remember that if you are bringing Children that are
not legally your own ( I.E- Friend, sister, etc) You will be
required to have a photo copy of the parents license , and
the waiver form filled out in triple. Also a letter stating
you are legally responsible for said child from that child’s
parents. Entry will be refused at the gate if these items
have not been brought.

We welcome children in Bitter End but in previous years we
have noticed a decline in people taking care of the children
they bring to events. Whether these kids are yours or not you
are responsible for there well being and any other behavior
will not be tolerated. You will be given a warning and the
second time you will be asked to leave site.

Please be considerate of all the other people attending this
event.

2. All animals must be leashed and picked up after, there
will be no animals allowed in the feast hall, unless for a
medical reason. We do have to consider people with
allergies.

3. Please remember site has no bar , so if you choose to
bring your own, we ask you maintain a period vessel or
container. Also anything in excess per person will not be
tolerated.

4. All those competing for Championships must have a valid
SCA Membership and the Heavy and Rapier must have an
inspiration.

5. There will be limited space for Merchants so you must
reserve space, or we cannot guarantee you will have a
table.

6. The Heavy and Rapier may be inside due to weather in
October, we will advise on this on Friday. Due to the nature
of the fighting that may end up inside the hall there will be
no camping space inside the hall this year.

7. There is plenty of camping space outside but we ask, all
fires to be above ground, the caretakers have kept up the
grass this season and it would be a shame. We also have a new
fire pit at the site, so bardic will commence.

8. All champions are required to hand in there regalia upon
entering site.
