The Shire of BriarOak cordially invites one and all to our BriarOak
Birl feast and Ithra, to be held Saturday February 2nd.  This year we
are bringing the pizzeria to you.  Our head cook has slaved over the
menu to bring a wonderful 15th century Italian feast to life with a
fun pizzeria twist that everyone is sure to love. 

Our events for the day are sure to appeal to a wide variety of
personas, as we strive for an eclectic pallet.  For the heavy
fighters we present our first annual Carlos of Briar Oak Memorial
Tournament
.  The tournament will be an open weapons competition. 

For those that are class orientated we are offering several Ithra
classes to include: Beginning Double-faced Cardweaving , Consorting:
Theory & Application, Beginning Research, Built Up Trims, Square Pegs
in Round Holes, Persona Development. 

This event will be held at the Sutherlin Community Center next to
central park, in Sutherlin OR.  Gate opens at 10am with the feast
beginning at 4pm.  Site closes at 10pm  Gate fees are $12  for adults
7.00 for youth and children under 5 are free.   Ithra fee is 3.00.
Make checks payable to SCA, Inc. Shire of Briaroak.  $3 Non member
surcharge applies.  Pre-registration is available, and recommended.

Directions:  From I-5 North take exit 136 (Sutherlin) at light turn
right.  Drive approx 1 mile through town.  You will go through two
lights, turn right onto Willamette Street (there is a train on the
corner where you turn).  The Community center is the only building on
the left with the park.  Parking is all around the park and directly
across the street from the Community Center.

From I-5 South take exit 136 (Sutherlin) at the end of the off ramp
turn right.  The turn right onto central.  Drive approx 1 mile
through town.  You will go through two lights, turn right onto
Willamette Street (there is a train on the corner where you turn).
The Community center is the only building on the left with the park.
Parking is all around the park and directly across the street from the
Community Center.
