The Shire of Hartwood's White Court

January 19, 2008
Ladysmith, BC

Unto the populace of An Tir the Shire of Hartwood extends invitation to our annual winter celebration.  Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of our Shire as we ward off winter's chill with "Hart"y feasting and revelry.  Activities include dancing, gaming, bardic, and other contests, as outlined below!

White Court is only 3 days away, and ticket sales are cut off.  I have just received word from her ladyship Meredith who is willing to sponsor a contest for the event.  I encourage you to prepare a calligraphed and illuminated work – in blue and silver.  The subject this year is anything you desire in a  winter theme.  The prize she promises is worth the effort!  Or perhaps you would be interested in weaving a winter's yarn or song?  Then prepare for the bardic contest – the most original and medieval-sounding winter's tale/tune.  Of course there is the garb contest for any who are interested.  Also, don't for get her ladyship Maria's contest for a subtlety!

** UPDATE*** Due to the likely absence of a laurel, the walk-about may need to be ajusted a bit.  Please still bring your bits of artwork to display, as we would love to see them, and of course ooh and ahh over them, but you may not get the benefit of a Laurel's advice.  Sorry for any inconvenience!

Cost: Adults (13 and up) $20, children (6-12) $10, under 6 free.  Save money by purchasing before December 31:  Adults $15, children $8.  A non-member surcharge of $3 is in effect.  An off-board price of $10 after is now available.
