to all Gentles, new comers and old anachronists!! It’s time
for the 5th annual newcomer’s encampment in the Canton of
Akornebir. Join us just off Highway 12 for a delightful
weekend of friendship, learning, feasting, and tournaments
for heavy fighters, whalebone. Equestrian demonstration. Plan
to join the vast Viking horde along with more civilized folk,
for all the events and after feast drumming and revelry. The
site is wet; fires must be within a pit. No Potable water on
site. DOGS allowed by pre-arrangement only, must have valid
shots and be on a leash at all times. This is a rural site
with numerous wildlife. Tent camping and self contained RV’s
only. No hookups or dump available. FEES: Adults- $8.00 day
trip, $15.00 all weekend, Children 12 and under $5.00 day
trip, $8.00 all weekend. $3.00 non member surcharge is in
effect. Make Checks Payable to “SCA Inc. -Canton of

DIRECTIONS: From the south (Walla Walla), take Hwy. 12 east
toward Dayton. Take a right turn just after you get to Lewis
and Clark Trail State Park. From the East: Take highway 12
west towards Walla Walla. Go through Dayton. Turn Left just
before Lewis and Clark Trail State Park. From the Tri-Cities:
Take Hwy. 124 east toward Waitsburg. Follow the signs to
Highway 12 – Dayton. Follow the directions from the East
above. Feast Info: Canton will supply the meat. Locals bring
main dishes or desserts. Out of town folks bring cold dishes,
cheese, fruit, etc. Also 2 soups on friday eve with bread,
breakfast on saturday.
