Le Recherche de Printemps: A Spring Quest Saturday April 2nd,
2005 Griffinwood Stables, Olympia, WA Join the Barony of
Madrone and the Madrone Equestrian Guild as we gather to
banish Winter and herald the new Spring! Equestrians and
revelers a-foot of all ages are welcome to join in the fun as
we follow a course of challenges and tasks through the sylvan
glades and forest trails around Griffinwood Stables, just
outside Olympia, WA. Vanquish the Ice Knight! ! Gather
flowers and demonstrate your prowess in the handling of your
horse or your own feet as you meet the challenges on your
quest! Impress the gatekeeper with your wit as you recite a
story, poem, song or joke about spring (extra points if
there’s a horse in it of course, and extra, extra points if
it’s period)! Again, equestrians and non equestrians
alike are encouraged to come and join in the fun…there will
be something for everyone. For a full list of competitions,
contests, quests and challenged, you can check out our
website at: http://www.9v.com/crystal/MEG/events/ Bring a
lunch. There will be a picnic area available for before or
after your trek. Dress for the weather, and wear good sturdy
shoes. Sorry, no dogs allowed on site. The site is discretely
wet but strict adherence to all modern laws is mandatory.
Underage drinking or stupidity will not be tolerated. Period
containers only, please. In the arena, after the trails
close, there will be demonstrations of equestrian prowess and
more goofy games to entertain, amuse and exhibit your mastery
of your horse. The autocrate team is having way too much fun
thinking up fun stuff to do! So please come and join us as we
welcome the new spring and herald the advent of a glorious
tournament season! There will also be many opportunities for
volunteers and equestrian marshals in training. See the
website or contact the autocrate for more information.

HORSE OWNERS SCA site fee: $10, children under 12, $5. As
this is a working equestrian center, please be sure that all
children are closely attended and supervised at all times. No
exceptions. The NMS will not apply, as this event is not
listed in the Crier. Haulin Fee: Free! Covered by your site
fee. Stall Fee: $10 a day or $25 for the weekend paid
directly to Griffinwood. There is limited space. First-come,
first-served, and pre registration is required with the
autocrate Anne-Marie. This is a working stable and equestrian
center. We have access to some great facilities, but care
must be taken to limit the impact on the paying boarders and
the site itself. There may be space for portable paddocks,
but only with preregistration. Again, please contact
autocrate for more info. There are no rental horses available
for this event. If you and/or your horse are planning on
spending the night, you MUST preregister with the autocrate,
Maitresse Anne-Marie at 206-306-2758 (no calls after 9:30pm)
or dailleurs@liripipe.com. All space is on a first-come,
first-served basis. Registration at least a week before the
event is highly recommended PROOF OF SHOTS All horses brought
on site must have proof on request (vet letter or copy of vet
bill is fine) that their horse is current on Rhino and flu,
and EEE. The site owners strongly encourage strangles and WNV
immunizations as well. In accordance with Madrone Equestrian
Guild policy, each horse will undergo a quick informal
“health check” on arrival before being put in a stall or pen
(no biggie, just a quick check of the paperwork and a once
over looking for obvious health problems). When you arrive on
site, you will be greeted by a Guild representative who will
assist you. =========================== CAMPING AND MOTELS We
will be allowed to camp on site (with pre-registration) or
one may choose to stay in nearby motels. The closest motel is
the Little Creek Casino (http://www.little-creek.com/), just
down the road, and they do a great buffet dinner as well.
Camping fees are: Camping $10/day $25/weekend RV w/ elec.
$15/day $40/weekend (Fri. 7 pm to Sun. 2 pm) Preregistration
with the autocrate is required for this as well. There may
also be some limited stall camping, up to four people per
stall. All gear and kit must be IN the stall, not in the
aisle. Same price as for horses. Preregistration is required
for this! Contact the autocrate for more info. Again, if you
