Candlemas Bardic Festival
January 31, 2004; Dragon’s Laire (Poulsbo, WA)

It is the time of year when the days grow longer, yet Winter is at its most bleak. What better way to celebrate the return of the Light, and find relief from the cold, than to come together by the gentle glow of flickering candles, be enchanted by the bards, and inspired by works of Art & Science!

The Barony of Dragon’s Laire invites you to our Candlemas Bardic Festival. Bards are encouraged to make all manner of period presentations for prizes. We will also be holding our Arts & Sciences Championship on this day. In addition, our Culinary Guild will also sponsor a subtlety contest. At the end of the day there will be a Potluck Feast. The Barony will provide one or two main dishes. Please bring enough to feed eight gentles. Prizes will be awarded for the most pleasing table decorations. Unscented candles only, please.

The site is the Eagles Hall, 4230 NE Lincoln Road; Poulsbo, WA. The hall will open at 10 a.m., and close at 10 p.m. Fees: members 14 & over, $7 ($10 for non-members) plus your potluck contribution; 6-13, $4; under 6, free. Make checks payable to SCA Inc. – Barony of Dragon’s Laire.
