The Shire of Glyn Dwfn welcomes one and all to our
annual Hocktide celebration of Spring. In addition to
selecting our defender for the next year, there will
be a served Persian feast. The theme will be that of
travel with the shire presenting itself as a
near-Eastern city receiving travelers from the west
and hosting them at a traditional Persian dinner.
Arts & Science workshops will be held throughout the
day, hosted by our A&S Minister and shire members.
There will be dancing, story telling and much revelry
for all.

Defender’s Tourney

1. Each entrant must submit a letter of intent to
Beringar or Lady Maja.
2. A brief article on “How would you army your
peasantry?” will be required
3. The tourney itself will be fought alternating
between pikes (nine-foot) and weapons of the
defender’s lady’s choice. (there are few enough perks
for being the defender babe!). The pike portion has
been added because of the martial nature of the
defendership.
4. The rest is like last year; Poetry, heraldry,
bardic and fighting.

Site Info:
Site opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Central
Point Masonic Lodge, East Pine Street, Central Point.
Take I-5, exit 30. Continue down Pine Street towards
town. Site will be on the left, between 5th and 6th
Streets. Please note that this is a dry site. Site
fee is $8. Contact the autocrat for a site fee
reduction if you would like to volunteer for the clean
up committee (reimbursed at the end of the event).
