Spring is almost here, and it is once again time for Celtic Bardic!

Come join the Barony of Blatha An Oir March 8 – 10 at the Longbranch
Improvement Center for a weekend of fun, frolic and entertainment. Please
come share your music, stories and other bardic talents.

Site opens at 3pm on Friday and closes at 4pm on Sunday. There is lots of
crash space in the hall and a big field for camping. There is plenty of
room for RVs, but no hookups.

Patrick the Temperate will be in the kitchen cooking up sumptuous goodies on
Saturday and Sunday which will be available for a nominal fee. There will
be a stone soup on Friday night and a potluck on Saturday night. Please
bring a dish to share that will complement the hearty stew the Barony is
providing.

We are trying a new format this year, and there will be no official
competition. The plan for the weekend is to have fun and share our bardic
talents with friends and family and to show off what we can do. Everyone is
welcome to perform, though there will be a schedule with time slots for
various themes, which include the SCA, Food & Drink, Mystery, the Wise & the
Foolish, the Nature of Life, performances for children, and performances by
children. Make of the categories anything you will. Performances that do
not fit these themes are also welcome. We want everyone to have fun and
share their talents in the tradition of a good old fashioned bardic. There
will also be bardic circle sing-alongs Friday and Saturday nights. Bring
your songbooks and dust off your old favorite tunes.

Individuals will be hosting various contests, including best period use of a
stringed instrument, best use of an instrument you made yourself (weird ones
too), and best children’s performance. Other contests will be announced on
site. If you are interested in hosting a contest, please contact Tuirrean
Dal gCais at baoscribe@attbi.com.

There will also be merchants, games and other activities.

Site fee is $8, $4 for those under age 12.

Directions to site:
