CANDLEMAS ~~ BARONY OF DRAGON’S LAIRE
Saturday, February 2nd – 2002

Avast there! The Baroness’s ship is under attack by pirates, and you’re ashore drinking! Can you survive “Saturday Night in Port Royale” ? For the Rapier Championship of Dragon’s Laire you must defeat a gauntlet of foes attempting to leave the tavern & return to the Baroness’s ship, which lies in Harbor. Will you prevent marauders from overtaking Her Excellency’s prized fleet? Come defend our Barony and become our Champion!” Bring all your weapons as this will be a London masters style tournament.

Other activities: BARDIC COMPETITION – Consists of a two piece performance- one must celebrate the promise of Spring. THROWN WEAPONS — HL Cedric is offering instruction and promises to have some novelty throws for fun! : CLASS in ILLUMINATION taught by Lady Mariette Devienne : CLASS in “Documenting Dinner for Feast or Fun” sponsored by our Culinary Guild: ARTS & SCIENCES Phred – this is your opportunity to bring in ANY Arts & Sciences project you are working on, complete or not, with one page documentation on it. The purpose is to show your work, discuss your area of interest with others and generate feedback for you. : CLASS on making Pierogi’s taught by HL Rycheza z Polska. This will be a hands-on cooking class… learning how to make this delicious Polish dough stuffed with cheeses or mushroom. IF you have a rolling pin .. PLEASE bring it! The Barony will enjoy the class results at Feast ! : NINE MAN MORRIS Competition – HL Eric de Dragonslaire will be officiating the tourney: After Feast Dancing brought to us by Arontius of Bygelswade.

Feast is Potluck – Your contribution should feed 8 or more. Your effort to use period looking containers will be greatly appreciated. Barony will provide roasted pork & a medieval baked chicken dish properly titled “Kurczak Pieczony z Suszonymi Sliwkami.”
POTLUCK PRIZES- Five Catagories : Best period presentation : Best documentation: Dish best illustrating event theme: Best TAVERN food: WORST Tavern Food (MUST be edible!)
There will ALSO be a prize for BEST table décor – CANDLE is required (after all, it is Candlemas) UNSCENTED CANDLES ONLY ….. many goode gentles have allergies.
