15 Aug 2001 Good gentles, The bad news is NO OPEN FLAME of
any type for September Crown. This means no firepits, no
charcoal braziers, no torches, no candles, no oil lanterns.
We may use propane barbecues and cook stoves. The fire danger
is so high this year, and we don’t need an incident, so
please come prepared. The good news is, there is still time
for it to RAIN like mad, so get out there and dance, baby,
dance!! (Or whatever you do to affect the weather!!) Prayers
gratefully accepted from all denominations. Yours in
insanity, Fiona ni Chonchuir Autocrat for September Crown

Greetings to all Artisans of An Tir, This September Crown
will once again see the Apprentices’ Display opposite the
Squires’ Tourney. For those of you who are unfamiliar with
this it is an opportunity for Apprentices or
Apprentice-for-a-day to have their work shown to all and have
it given as prizes for the Squires’ Tourney if they wish.
There will be two areas to place your work; display only –
you want it back, and one for the items to be given as a
prize to the squires. In the past there has been the
opportunity for the peerage of the Kingdom to sponsor their
own contest in the Squires’ Tourney for the prize to be given
out for. For example in the past there has been Most Period
Armour, Most Heraldic Armor, Best Death, etc . . . there has
also been waterbearers choice, marshals choice, etc. This
year we would like to open up the giving to the apprentices
as well. If you are making an item specifically to be awarded
to the best period ______ then you will be able to do that.
Upon TRM approval we would still like to give them both an
opportunity to pick for each of their choices. So, if you are
an apprentice please think of something to donate or show. If
you are not then find a friendly Laurel and ask for them to
sponsor you. If you live in the Shire of
Backwoods-no-wheres-ville and there are no Laurels that you
know don’t let that stop you. Contact me ahead of time or
make something and bring it and we will find you a sponsor on
site. Thank you all for your time and efforts and I will see
you at Crown! Yrsa Kettilsdottir cristin-kyndra@home.com eb
