Feast

In the Barony of Dragon’s Laire

At the Village Green Community Center, 26159 Dulay Road,
Kingston, WA 98346

Open from 10AM-9PM

Feast begins at 6pm

Please join Their Excellencies Conchobar and Eilidh, as well as
Her Royal Majesty of An Tir, Queen Héléne, as we celebrate the
Yule Season and the end of another glorious year for the
Barony.

 

Event Fee: $15 (NMS of $5, youth 17 and under free)

Feast Fee: $10

Lunch: by donation.

Anglo-Saxon inspired winter feast with goodies

from the fall harvest” recipes and inspiration from the,

“Tastes of Anglo-Saxon England,” by Mary Savelli.

Luncheon:

 

A Roman inspired vegan soup:

lentils, dried peas, leeks, cabbage, and herbs.

Real bacon crumbles topping (optional) | Cheeses and Fruit

 

Feast:

 

First course:

Beef vegetable soup or vegetarian soup option

Rolls baked by Maitre Renart

 

Second course:

Roast pork, sautéed mushrooms,

sautéed seasonal vegetables, barley pilaf,

butters, onion relish, and a tasty mustard and more rolls!

 

Third course:

Honey apple bread pudding, baked apples and cream.

For those of a less sweet tooth:

an offering of tangy cheese, dried fruits, and nuts.

 

 

Menu subject to change based on seasonal availability.

Allergy Concerns: The cook is using non-iodized salt

& almonds are only in the mixed nuts.

GF Options are available.

TENATIVE
SCHEDULE:

The Hall will be the gathering place for the populace all day
until feast and court. Bring your projects and handwork!

 

10am: Gate Opens for all Attendees.

10am-11am: Coffee and Hot Water available for tea.

11am: Morning Court

Dance Class following immediately after Morning Court (1
Hour)

12pm-1pm: Lunch

1pm-4pm: Games

1:30pm-2:30pm: How to wear a Hennin Class by Countess Judith and
Baroness Spike

2pm-4pm: Yule Ball

3pm: Table Decoration Judging

Edible Heraldry Contest entries must be turned in before Evening
Court.

4pm: Evening Court

6pm: Gate Closes

6pm-9pm: Feast

9pm: Clean up begins.

10pm: Site Closes.

Arts and
Sciences Scroll Display:

A beautiful assortment of original scrolls belonging to the
peers of Dragon’s Laire will be displayed in the main hall. These
wonderful creations are seldom seen after the event where they are
given out. This will be a unique opportunity to view, enjoy and
become inspired by these enchanting artworks. For additional

Festive
Competitions:

Yule Feast Table Decorating competition

Everyone is encouraged to participate in our Yule Feast Table
Decorating competition! Tables are 60″ round and will be covered
with a provided tablecloth. Use your imagination! Some suggested
themes: Heraldic Beasts, Tabletop Battlefield, Micro A&S demo,
Winter Wonderland, Yule Log, Personal Heraldry. The possibilities
are endless! Please limit use of scented items, as well as
unsecured glitter and open flames. Winning entrant/team will
receive a special handmade reward. Entries must be displayed by
noon.

Edible Heraldry

Let’s get creative with Heraldry! Create a representation of
your device, or the barony’s device, in an edible medium. The
possibilities are endless! Pie crust, cookies, bread dough, Spam
sculpture! Entries will be judged on artistry, accuracy, and sheer
inventiveness. Entries must be in by noon.

 

Sock Drive:

Help Village Green Community Center Collect socks for the North
Kitsap Emergency Center:

We are looking for new, unworn pairs of socks to help cold
feetzies stay warm for the winter season. Donations will be taken
all day during Yule and we encourage everyone to participate during
this season of giving!
