The Barony of Blatha An Oir invites you to our traditional
mid-winter event. The day’s activities will include Baronial
Court, a Pot-Luck Feast, A&S Classes and Activities, and a
Court of Love. 





Enclosed flame candles and festive table decorations are
encouraged. Please bring your own tablecloths to fit standard
rectangular banquet tables. Alcoholic beverages are allowed (in
period containers please, no kegs allowed per our site agreement).
There is a small parking lot at the facility, additional parking on
the street, and plenty of parking in the lot across the street to
the east of the hall. There will be a 10×10 popup for outside
shelter.

Pre-Registration:
Due to the Banquet Permit requirement for a guest list, please send
an email to Annaka (alphamike99 at yahoo dot com) with the SCA
Names and Mundane names of those in your party, including youth.
This will also speed up gate check-in and help us plan the food.
Liking or saying you are interested in the event on the Facebook
page is nice but does not get you on the guest list. Pay at the
Door.

Tentative Schedule:
10:30 am Site Opens to the Populace. 
A&S Classes, Activities, and Socializing throughout the
day.
4:00 pm Court 
After Court (around 5:00 pm) Potluck Feast and Court of Love
8:00 pm Site Closed

A&S Classes and Activites:

12:00pm – 2:00pm. Learn detached Buttonhole Stitch. Buttonhole
stitch is a fill Stitch that is not worked through the fabric, but
rather on top of it. Here you will learn two styles of the Stitch.
Limited to six students. Students need to bring a basic sewing kit,
as well as a embroidery frame or hoop. No fee for the class.
Ability to do a basic chain stitch is a plus. Taught by Elizabeth
FittzWilliam.

2:00pm – 4:00pm. Intarsia. Learn the basics of intarsia, or
inlaid wool applique, used in the Scandinavian countries in the
13-15th centuries to make cushions, hangings, coverlets and other
soft furnishings. Bring a sharp pair of snips or scissors, as there
will be wool, thread and needles provided, as well as a selection
of design options.Limited to 10 students. Taught by Angharat verch
Reynulf

Afternoon: Open Scribal Table hosted by Thomasina
“Tamsin” Fairamay. Open
Scribal Table hosted by Thomasina “Tamsin” Fairamay.
Charter Painting 101 Color Theory classes will be taught by Eibhlin
inghean Fhionghuinne and Taylor Tomblin. Adults and Teens welcome
to learn charter painting skills. Practice bookmarks available.
Materials provided or bring your own gouache paints and
brushes.

Entertainment – music provided by Gareth.


Largess:
Our new Baron and Baroness need largess to continue our tradition
of generosity toward our cousins and guests. A Largess Display area
will be provided for your contributions. 

Potluck Dinner:
Each adult please bring a potluck contribution – an
appetizer, main dish, side dish, or dessert, to serve 8-10 people.
If your food needs to be served hot, please bring it in a crock pot
or other heating/serving dish. Please be generous with your
contribution. Don’t forget to bring a serving utensil. Cards
will be available to list your ingredients. Baroness Elspeth is our
Pot-Luck Feast Coordinator. 

The Barony will provide two period potluck feast contributions:
Slow-roasted Beef, and a Vegetable Soup. If you have any food
allergies or concerns with either of these main dishes, please
contact Annaka. Complete ingredient lists will be available at the
event.



Site Fees – Pay At The Door:
$15.00 per person for adults 18 years and older, with a $5 discount
for current SCA Members with a Blue Card.
Free for Youth 17 and under. 
Please make checks payable to SCA Inc. Barony of Blatha An Oir.

Parents and Guardians: please keep an eye on your children during
the event. This is for their safety, the safety and enjoyment of
the populace, and our site contract.
