You are invited to Summits Winter
Investiture, which will be hosted in the Barony of Adiantum on
Saturday Dec 10 2016, at the Northwest Youth Corps building in
southeast Eugene OR. Site opens at 8:30am and closes at 10pm. Gate
fee is $25 ($5 discount for members).  Make checks payable to
Barony of Adiantum, SCA Inc.

 Arrangements have been made with
the Comfort Suites in Eugene, located about a half-mile from site.
Rooms with a single King bed are $84 per night and rooms with two
Queen beds will run $89 per night. They have been made aware that
several people may share a single room and have voiced no
objections to this time-honored tradition. The group name to use
when booking is “SCA”

Rapier
Fighters! At this year’s Winter Investiture in the Barony of Adiantum, come vie
to become the next Captain of Cats, Summits’ Rapier Champion! All
entrants must be authorized to fight in their chosen weapons
combination(s) and must be a member of the SCA. This year, I want to heavily
encourage all entrants
to help increase the pageantry of the lists!
Please bring banners
(note we’ll be indoors so gonfalon-style may
work best), personal
heralds, household members, etc and let’s show
that it’s not just about
the fighting, but the drama and beauty of
our game. Please note,
banners, heralds, etc are NOT required
but, again, highly
encouraged!
The format this year will be a
QRC-Style single
round-robin, choose your pairings. For those not
familiar, fighters will
find their own pairings after each bout. If
the entrants and space
allow, we will split into 2 erics. If the list is at or above 10
combatants, the top 4
combatants from the round robin will seed into
a single-elimination
tournament with each fight being best 2 out
of 3. If the list is
smaller than 10, we will immediately go to
the finals. Finals will be fought best 3 out
of 5.

The Alpine Scholar is sponsoring a competition at Winter
Investiture, “Best Embroidery or Embellishment on the Theme of the
Summits”. Please bring your projects!

There will be a dayboard and feast
available for modest fees. The dayboard will have soups (with a
vegetarian option), breads, and cheeses. The evening feast will be
