StormMaker Tournament

Ivon and Hlutwige, Lord and Lady Stromgard herewith invite all
artisans to vie for the honour of being named their StormMaker,
Champion of the Arts and Sciences of the Barony of Stromgard at
Founding Revel, February 20 (2016) in the Barony of Stromgard
(Clark and Skamania Cos, WA). Those wishing to compete for this
title must inform Their Excellencies no later than February 10
(2016) and submit a Letter of Intent to Their Excellencies at
morning court at the event.

Each competitor is required to research and document two (2)
complete and distinct entries plus an entry to be created on site
the day of the tournament (see “Mystery Box”
below).

Competitors are further required to make a fire using flint and
steel as well as use the fire in some way in their third entry (We
recommend competitors procure a set of flint and steel with which
to practice prior to the tournament). Each competitor is allowed
outdoor space for their “camp”.  This camp may be
as elaborate or as simple as the Competitor wishes.  They may
present the first two entries in their tent as well as prepare the
third. Competitors will need a fire pit and fuel with which to
build fire. arious tinders, wood and charcoal will be
provided.

Strikers and sets can be found at –

(page 82)

Competitors are allowed to have one person who will serve as
adviser/assistant/helper.

Each competitor will be given a “Mystery Box” filled
with various items (all Mystery Boxes will have identical
contents).  The competitor and their adviser will have 10
minutes to work out a plan for the entry based on the contents of
the Mystery Box.  There will be at least six areas of Arts and
Sciences to choose from.

Once the 10 minutes is up, the Competitors and their advisers will
visit the “sideboard” for five minutes where they may
trade any item from their Mystery Box for any needed/wanted item
from the sideboard.

Later Competitors may also trade item for item from the Mystery Box
only, with each other.  You may trade any or all items that
are in your Mystery Box.  Competitors may not trade items from
the “sideboard”.

Time to start!  Competitors have three hours to complete the
third entry(s).  First, each Competitor must build and start
the fire.  Next, Competitor and Adviser will create the third
entry(s) using the items in the Mystery Box and using the fire the
Competitor has built to facilitate the completion of the third
project.
