YULE

Winter Solstice, the time
of year when the sun begins to return, was truly a cause for
celebration.

Ynglinga saga, the first
book of Heinskringla, first mentions Yule in 840AD.  The Saga of “Haakon the
Good”, credits King Haakon I of Norway with scheduling the
date of Yule.

The Vikings honored their
gods with rituals and feasting.

Sir Justin has announced
there will be a Pas de Arms Tournament

Please join Baron Ivon
and Baroness Hlutwige and the Barony of Stromgard,  in celebration this
year.

This event is a tradition
of Stromgard and free to the populace.  We ask that you bring a potluck
contribution of your choosing.   A dish large enough to
feed 10 other people,   per person in your
party.   As an example, a family of four
would bring a large casserole.  The Barony will be providing
turkey and bread. Please bring bags to carry home your
dishes.

Schedule:
Friday eve, 6:30. Hall decoration. Contact the Steward if you wish
to assist.
Saturday, 10am, Site opens!
11am – Class; Applied Heraldry & Painless Persona
12pm – Class; Beaded Ornaments, Tournament List opens, Armor
inspection begins
1pm – Pas de Armes Tournament begins
2pm – Class; Begining Childrens Combat
3pm – Class; Turkey Carving (for all table hosts and anyone else
interested)
5pm – Feast begins (site discreetly wet, period containers
please)
6pm – Baronial Court concurrent with feast

Games and other activities will be going on all day for your
pleasure.

Closes at 9pm…………….cleanup at
9:01. Please stay to help clean and straighten up the
hall.
