More Information:

Boffer Sword and Buckler
Tournament

Join Sir Phillip de Mantel for a Nerf
sword and buckler tournament inspired by MS I.33 Friday night at
Springfest.  It will be unarmoured and heavy fighters, rapier
fighters, non-fighters, and youth are welcome.

Master Thorvald’s
Forge

Throughout the weekend, Master
Thorvald will have his forge set up.  He invites all who have
an interest in the arcane art of blacksmithing to stop by and say
‘hi’, stay a while and chat, and mayhap even try your hand at it
(if you dare)!

Needle-felting with
Aerngaldra

Would you like to spiff up your woolen
garb, but don’t know how to
embroider? Aerngaldra will be teaching a class on needlefelt
applique
techniques at Springfest. This is a non-period way of
embellishing
wool that can easily & convincingly look like various
embroidery
stitches. It’s easy to learn, quick to do, and readily lends itself
to
many spiffy and creative applications.

The class can accommodate ten people, and materials and supplies
will
be provided free of charge. You may either bring something woolen
to
embellish that you already have, or just utilize some practice
fabric.

Any questions? Email Aerngaldra at   silverwolff@gmail.com

Inroduction to Lace in
Period

Lady
Kathleen will present a brief overview of how and when lace was
used in period and describe the different techniques in practice. A
practical lesson in bobbin lace will follow, with kits available
for purchase should the student choose to keep them. The easy
pattern presented will work well for creating trim to use with
later-period garb, and is particularly suited for use with metallic
threads.

2-4pm Saturday,
Class limit 6 people.  Class is
free, but if you wish to take home your materials to continue work,
cost is $15.
