Baronial Competition Guidelines:

Each entrant will need to bring Two (2) entries. While these
entries can be similar, a breath of experience is encouraged. These
entries need not be completely finished, works in progress are
happily accepted. Come show us what you are working on.

Documentation: There will be no requirement for written
documentation, however, during the judging process candidates will
be expected to talk about the historical context of their pieces
(where is it from, who would have used/made it, how would it have
been made, what did you do that was not in the medieval style,
etc…) For this presentation candidates are REQUIRED to be able to
cite TWO SOURCES discussing medieval pieces of this nature, or
similar pieces. This is designed to encourage candidates to look
into the more scholarly aspects of their craft.

Importantly this competition is  designed to be fun. A chance
to show off what you have been geeking out about to an appreciative
audience.

Newcomers’ Challenge:  For those who have never entered an A
&S competition before, we encourage you to try, even if you
only have one piece.  Among this group, there will be an
additional prize for the person who enters something most in the
spirit of Alphonso X.

SCA Rummage Sale:  bring those items that you no longer use
that somebody else might have use for.  It is requested that
people give 10% of any money they make to a local Arts Education
organization (to be named once a few last details are worked
out.)  Space will be limited, so if participation is good,
people may have to display their items in shifts.

Games Tourney:  A Tourney, based on games included in
Alphonso’s Libro de Juegos will be taking place.
