Acorn War XXIII

August 10-12, 2012

The Shire of Mountain Edge (Yamhill County, OR) invites
you to the 23rd friendly and fun Acorn War.

Armored and rapier fighters, archers and equestrians,
prepare to show your skill in tourneys and the War.  Mountain
Edge Archery and Equestrian Defenders will be chosen at this
event.

New: The Youth Armored Combat Defender of the Shire will
also be chosen at Acorn War starting this year.

There will also be on site contests, classes, and
activities.  Straw into Gold and Scottish Rules Croquet, an
A&S ‘village”, merchant’s row.  Bring drinking
water.  Check the Acorn XXIII website for details, pre
registration and waiver forms, event schedule, war scenarios and
tourneys, and site and waiver information.

Site opens at 12 noon on Friday (10:00 am for merchants)
and closes at 6:00 pm on Sunday.

IMPORTANT: All sign an equestrian waiver at gate. 
This waiver must be signed by a minor’s parent or legal
guardian.  Please see the Acorn War Web site for forms and
instructions.

Note: $5.00 NMS fee applies to all non-member adults
whether pre-registered or at gate.

Site Fees at Gate

Adults: $15.00,  Youth ages 12-17:$10.00, 
Children 6-11: $5.00,  Children 5 and under free.

Day Trip Fees

Adults: $10.00,  Youth 12-17: $7.00,  Children
6-11: $3.00,  Children 5 and under free.

Pre-registration Fees (Entire Event Only)

Adults: $12.00,  Youth ages 12-17: $8.00,
  Children 6-11: $4.00, Children 5 and under free (please
list on form).

Pre-registration is required for horses.

Pre-registration postmark: 8/3/2012.  Make check
payable to Shire of Mountain Edge, SCA Inc.

Site: The Dragon’s Den Farm, 23205 NE Mountain Top Rd.,
Newberg, OR 97132-6406.

Directions to Site: From the North: take Rte 99W south
to Hwy 219 in Newberg. Proceed north (toward Hillsboro) on Hwy 219
up the mountain, then turn left on Mountain Top Rd. Keep left at
intersection with Jaquith Rd.  Farm is on right (white board
fence).

From Hillsboro or Tigard: take your best route to Hwy
219 south and proceed up mountain.  Just after the pass, turn
right on Mountain Top Rd.  Proceed as above.

From the south take Rte 99W to Newberg.  
Turn north on Hwy 219 north and proceed as above.

SCA signs will be posted.
