Once more the Barony of Stromgard invites all to play the Game
of Thrones and Stormgods July 27-29 near Woodland, WA.

On Friday evening, before battle is joined and blood is shed, a
gathering will celebrate the Barons’ Birthday Bash -commemorating
Barons past and present- with drink, food and revelry.

Saturday, contenders for Stromgard’s martial championships – in
heavy fighting, fence and equestrian – will compete.

Tiernan’s Game of Thrones will also be on Saturday. Victors will
be well rewarded, while ravens already gather to feast on the
fallen.

Those wishing to enter the champions’ tournaments must present
themselves to Baroness Miranda and Baron Tiernan during the morning
court before the tournaments commence.

There will be other activities on Saturday including archery,
thrown weapons and arts and sciences.

With blood cooled from battle we will again join in a night of
adult-only fun with the “Race for the Hoard.” Everyone needs a
prize to enter the race.

Competition for Stormgod: Combatants for
the title of Stormgod will compete in a round-robin style
tournament and then participate in the Game of Thrones between
rounds. Entrants must also present themselves to their Graces
of Stromgard at morning court.

The Game of Thrones: This is a timed,
multi-team, resurrection, woods battle where the objective is to
hold a keep against all of your opponents aggregate time of
possession for each team determines the victor. NEW THIS
YEAR is the keep being built on site, one fourth of a small
trelleborg style fortress, a “ditch and berm” with a palisade and
tower of wood.

Stromgard Rapier Champion: The tournament
for the Baronial Rapier Champion will be held on Saturday and
fighters will be offered the opportunity to fight on the field and
in the woods battle area as well. Competitors must present
themselves to their Graces of Stromgard at the morning court.

Equestrian: A full schedule of equestrian
events will be held again this year.

Thrown Weapons: Thrown weapons this year
will again be run by HL Gerald de Huntington and he promises a
number of novelty events, possibly including spear tic-tac-toe and
thrown knife poker.

Arts & Sciences: On Saturday, each
individual wishing to enter should bring two items – one their
current best work, and the other, an early attempt at the same kind
of item. The populace will vote on their favorite item and the
participant who’s work they think is the most improved. There will
be prizes for both most improved and populace favorite.

Family Activities: While the adults are
Racing for the Hoard, there will be story reading and a gathering
for those children that desire to attend. More information on this
event will be available on site.
