Come one, come all to a celebration of feast season in the
Barony of Adiantum! Midwinter’s Feast is approaching, with its
glorious celebration of the Arts and Sciences. The beloved Artisans
Social will be returning, featuring a vast array of artists from
all over the great Kingdom of An Tir.

Watch as the Arts & Science, Rapier, and Games Baronial
championships are challenged. Baronial champions need not reside in
the Barony, though they must be paid members, so come try your
skills for the title! 

Partake in a fantastic feast of fabulous food showcasing a
German theme. The feast has a limited space of 100 seats, all
members of the populace (of all ages) who wish to sit in the feast
hall and break bread, and share drink with us, will need to pay the
$10 feast fee at gate. The feast is first come first serve.
Overflow seating will be available in a secondary room for those
who choose not to partake in the feast. Feastocrat is Bastian

Site fee is $5 for adults, plus $5 NMS if applicable. Children
under 14 are free, children eating the feast must buy a ticket.

Before and after the A& S competition we will have the
A& S social.

The baronial games championship this year will highlight the three
main components of gamesmanship: skill, cunning and luck. There
will be three rounds each with a different game. The first round
will feature a game that is primarily luck based, the second game
will be based on cunning, the final round will take the best four
entrants from the previous rounds and they will compete in a game
of skill for the championship.

The Arts & Science Competition. Entrants must enter
only two works to be judged. The two pieces must be from different
skills, for example a cooking entry and a painted charter. The two
pieces MAY be related or linked so long as each requires different
skills. For example weaving fabric in a period technique for entry
one and sewing it into a tunic for entry two. Written documentation
is required. Oral presentations to the judges on the day of the
competition is encouraged but not required.

The Rapier competition. Three things make a good SCA Fencer. The
first being Chivalry in the form or Courtly Love. The second will
be Bravado in the form of boasting. The third: skill.   For
the first part each of the competitors will be introduced to the
Barroness and in a show of courtly love and Panache compliment her
in a true and chivalric manner. Her Excellency will pick the one
who has shown courtly love with the most flare and Panache and
awards them two ribbons. Each of the competitors will introduce
themself to the Baron and boast on how they will win this
competition. His Excellency will then award two ribbons to the
person with the best bost. Finally, there will be three styles of
fencing: single sword, sword and dagger, and sword and parrying
shield or rod. Each win will award one ribbon. The competitor with
the most ribbons wins. The boasting and courtly love portion of the
rapier can happen at any time, even during dinner.

PLEASE BRING FEAST GEAR (plate, bowl, cup, silverware, napkin)
there will be very little loaner items.

There will be a free day board for lunch consisting of breads,
cheese and a soup.
