Eat, Sing, and Be Merry – Celebrate Winter and Ring in the
New Year with Hartwood! Bring Arts & Sciences projects,
past and present, complete or not, to exhibit on the display
table. There will be a Laurel’s Walkabout with prizes for the
pieces that are the most instructive and inspiring. Contests:
Bardic – Best spoof of a Gregorian Chant. Must actually
conform to the conventions of the Gregorian Chant (which
means some research and documentation is involved!) Subtlety:
Using as your theme the colours blue and white, create a
dessert that doesn’t look like food, or looks like a
different kind of food from what it actually is. For example,
make a banner showing Tir Righ’s colours out of woven strands
of blue and white spaghetti with a lovely white chocolate
sauce. Dance: The Dancemistress is busy autocratting – who
can fill these mighty shoes? Everyone is encouraged to try
their hand at teaching/leading a dance. Prizes will be
awarded, but better than riches is the enjoyment you bring to
others participating or watching the dance. Table Setting:
Bring all your finery and create the most authentic and
beautiful place setting you can. Children only: There will be
prizes for children who tell a story that has a princess, a
knight, and lots of snow in it! Autocrat: Lady Tita the

Site closes at midnight. Site Fee: On or before December 20,
adult $16, 12 and under $8. After December 20, adult $20, 12
and under $10. Small children eating from their parent’s
plate are free. Non-member surcharge of $4. Please make
cheques payable to the Shire of Hartwood. The site is
discreetly damp – please use period containers wherever
possible.
