.Her Excellancy Renata hereby announces the opening of the
trials for Sergeants, Yeomen, Gallants and Courtiers of the
Barony of Wealdsmere. For those who are interested in
undergoing the trials, please contact Her Excellancy for a
study packet. Her contact info is: sandcaster@surfbest.net.
During the day there will be Heavy Fighting, Fencing, and
Target Archery. Those not undertaking the trials are invited
to come and test their skills along with the candidates and
the members of the Order of Sergeantry. We will also be
offering Arts Alfresco, a selection of hands on Arts &
Science classes. Some of the classes that will be offered are
castile soap making, felting, rabbit skin tanning, metal
etching, and paper making. Some classes will carry small fees
for materials. Registration for classes will be held on site.
Check gate for times. There will be a campwide potluck held
Saturday evening. All are invited. The Barony will provide
the meat. Please bring a dish to feed 8 – 10 people. No open
fires or tiki torches. Dogs must remain leashed at all times,
please police your pets. Potable water is available on site.
Please be prepared to pack out your trash. Quiet time is
11:00 pm and will be strictly enforced. Merchants Welcome!
Please contact autocrat to reserve your space. There will be
no additional merchant fee, just pay normal gate fees upon
your arrival. Site fees: Adults 16 – over, $8.00, children 6
-15, $4.00. Day -Adults 16 – over, $5.00, children 6 – 15,
$2.00. Family cap is $35. The Non-Member Surcharge of $3.00

closes on August 28th at 2:00 p.m. Directions to Site: From
Newport: Head South from town on Highway 2. After
approximately two miles, turn left onto Scotia/Spring Valley
Road. After one mile, turn left at the four-way stop onto
Spring Valley Road. Stay on Spring Valley Road for
approximately ten miles. Follow the SCA signs. Here is a link

Head North from town on Highway 2. Three miles North of
Riverside, turn right at Miller’s One Stop onto Elk-to-Hwy
Road. Go three miles into Elk and turn left onto Elk-Camden
Road. Go North on Elk Camden Road for approximately two miles
and turn right onto Frideger Road. Go to the end of Frideger
Road (approximately three miles) and turn left onto Jefferson
Road. After one half mile, Jefferson turns right. Just after
this turn, turn left onto Spring Valley Road and drive one
mile through the woods. When you come out of the woods, turn
