.Springfest in Barony of Wastekeep June 4, 2005 in Connell WA
(new date) Springfest, our annual celebration of
Spring’s emergence throughout our land, will be held as
a One Day Event this year. We invite all the folks of the
land to come and join us for tourneys, activities for all
ages, and a plenteous Potluck Feast. We also invite and
welcome any Merchants who should desire to attend and entice
us with your wares. We are having Ithra classes as well. This
event will also be the first local event for everyone to meet
the new Baron and Baroness of Wastekeep. Please join us in
congratulating them and wishing them well for the coming
years. On Saturday, the Fourth of June, A.S. XL, we shall
convene the Tournaments for Baronial Heavy Champion and
Baronial Boffer Champions. We will have activities for young
and old alike throughout the day. The Heavy Champion
Tournament will be multi-weapons. It will be Round Robin or
Double Elimination depending on the number of entrants. There
are 5 weapon styles, Sword and Shield, Axe and Shield, Mace
and Shield, 2 weapons, and 2 handed weapon, and the fighter
needs to be ready to fight 4 of these styles or forfeit for
those styles one is not qualified in. The first 4 fights all
have to be different styles and the 5th may be a repeat of
one of the first 4 styles. Fighters need not fight with the
same weapon as their opponent. The List will keep track of
wins. At the end of the tourney we tally who got the most
wins and that person will be the new Baronial Champion. Each
style winner will also receive a prize. In the Evening,
during a sumptuous Potluck Feast, there will be the verbal
duel for Baronial Defenestrator. This will involve a written
submission to the Baron and Baroness defining the contestants
