William Tell XVIII                                River’s Bend

The Shire of River’s Bend invites you to William Tell XVII. Times for all contests will be in the site handout. The site is the Amboy Territorial Days Park, 21400 NE 399th St., Amboy, WA. Site opens at 3 PM on Friday the 26th and will close at 5 PM on Sunday the 28th. No early arrivals without written permission of the Autocrat! Site is handicapped friendly!


Contests: Best bardic presentation on an archery theme, Child-Adult Team Archery, Thrown Weapons and others. Equestrian competition will be held on Saturday. Heavies and fencers will be provided a space for practice. There will be archery going on all weekend for both adults and children. FOR THE LADIES ONLY: Come enter the 3rd Annual Guillermo da Sierra Patace Memorial Bocce Ball Tourney. Best Dessert Contest on an apple theme.


Along with the usual Friday night stone soup (your fellow travelers would greatly appreciate your donations to the soup pot), there will be breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings for a modest fee. The breakfasts are on a first come, first served basis. No pre-paid. No dinner will be offered this year. The kitchencrat requests that you bring your own dishes (plate, bowl, cup and utensils), as none will be available. This is a discretely wet site. An Tir and mundane laws will be strictly enforced. Period containers are a must! Legal drinking age in Washington is 21.


Site fees: Site fees: Age 16 and up $12.00; 4-15 $7.00; 3 and under free. There is a maximum fee of $40.00 for a modern family (Parents and children 18 and younger only). “Make checks payable to “SCA Inc. – Shire of River’s Bend”. Any applicable Non-Member Fees will be added to the previous amounts.

DIRECTIONS: From the North take I-5 to exit 21 (Woodland/Cougar). At the light turn left, get into right lane, turn right at the second light, and follow signs to Amboy. Go across the bridge and take a left at the “Y”. Follow Cedar Creek Rd. for approx. 11 miles to NE Munch Rd. turn right. Go approx. 2 miles to 4 way stop. Turn left onto NE Grantham Rd. Follow this for 3 miles to the Amboy Territorial Day’s Park. Site is on the left. From the South on I-5, take exit 21 and turn right at the light, follow above directions from the “2nd” light. Amboy is approx. 20 miles from I-5. S.C.A. signs will be posted.
